Vitamin D is a fat-soluble vitamin, which is why a fat source (coconut oil) is needed for optimal absorption. Consequentially, its half-life is 14 days. The vitamin should only be taken once a week (or once every 4 days) to meet the needs for the vitamin without worrying about deficiencies.
